As Deloitte Touche Tomatsu's Director of Security Intelligence and then as Director of Security Management and Security Intelligence, Richard Power was instrumental in the creation of Deloitte's Global Security Office (GSO). During his tenure, GSO evolved from an idea into a fully staffed, comprehensive program, with 24x7 operational capabilities and global reach. His areas of responsibility included: intelligence, security organization, crisis management, travel security, policies, standards, awareness and education. Deloitte has $18 billion in annual revenues and 120,000 people in 140 countries. (2002-2005)
Prior to Deloitte, Power served as Editorial Director of the Computer Security Institute (CSI), the premiere, international association of information security practitioners for corporations and government organizations. While at CSI, Power established unprecedented visibility and prominence for CSI, and was responsible for CSI's portfolio of professional publications, as well as a major contributor to the organization's global positioning and strategy. He also managed CSI press relations and served as CSI's public spokesman. (1994-2002)
