GS3 Intelligence offers a range of security and intelligence services, including:
• Executive Briefings: Power has delivered his briefing to business and government leaders in over thirty countries. In formats ranging from one hour to day-long workshops, Power delivers a comprehensive global security and intelligence review, encompassing risks and threats to your organization’s people, buildings, reputations and information assets. The briefings can be calibrated for executive, technical or general audiences. Enlivened with fascinating, little-known case studies, this briefing covers both physical and cyber threats, and provides visionary insights. It also empowers the audience, with practical recommendations for workplace, home and travel security.

"A human action becomes genuinely important when it springs from the
soil of a clear-sighted awareness of the temporality and the ephemerally
of everything human. It is only this awareness that can breathe any greatness
into an action."
~ Vaclav Havel
• Security Intelligence: Your security and risk programs are only as strong
as the intelligence that enlightens them. Identifying worthy streams of open
source intelligence, and in turn, filtering, aggregating, and analyzing the intelligence,
is an expertise that too few global organizations have utilized fully. Power
designs and administers intelligence programs, including daily and/or weekly
summaries with customized recommendations.
• Travel Security Programs: The age of globalization in the market place is also the age of environmental disasters, rising terrorism, an increasing number of failed states, deepening poverty and alienation, etc., travel security is more essential than ever. Power designs and supports global travel security programs, including monitoring travel, establishing protocols, assigning threat levels, developing and implementing policies and standards, delivering awareness and education, etc.
• Security Awareness and Education: Power is a master of developing engaging, empowering
awareness and education materials, and can develop an economical and effective
program, calibrated for your workforce, and in tune with
your strategic objectives.

GS(3) Intelligence Presentations and Workshops
Richard Power has spoken at conferences and led training sessions for security and intelligence professionals, government officials, business leaders, and general audiences in over thirty countries. The abstracts listed below can be presented in a variety of ways, including keynote speeches, forty-five minute presentations and workshops.
Dissonant Convergence, The 21 st Century Security Crisis: As the Indian Ocean tsunami, the Pakistan earthquake, the London subway bombings and the destruction of New Orleans illustrate, planetary citizens face an unprecedented security crisis: most government and business leaders are still in denial about global warming, and particularly its security implications (both near-term and long-term), the failed “war on terrorism” has only aggravated the very real and imminent danger of attacks on civilian population throughout the world, the threat of bird flu pandemic increases every day, the identity theft and other cyber crimes that ruin finances and destroy businesses are on the rise, etc. Indeed, the first decade of the 21 st Century has brought us into greater peril than we have ever faced. Governments, businesses and individuals have to respond, but not in old ways, not in Cold War or pre-Cold War modalities, but in bold, holistic and right-brained ways. This presentation provides an overview of all aspects of the 21 st Century Security Crisis, and provides practical recommendations relevant to organizations and individuals throughout the world.
Holistic Security: A Comprehensive 21 st Century Security Program for Your Organization: This presentation addresses all aspects of organizational security, including security management, travel security, crisis management, cyber security, security assessments, physical security, background investigations, incident response, security awareness and education, site and personnel certification and counter-intelligence from real-world experience and a best practice perspective. It provides a practical plan for a comprehensive program relevant to the demands of the 21 st Century Security Crisis.
Security Implications of Global Warming: How Climate Change Impacts The Security of Your Nation, Your Family and Your Business: Amazingly, even after Katrina and the record-breaking hurricane season, which many of us predicted, the corporate board rooms and the mainstream news media are in denial. Many more people will die from global warming than terrorism, much more economic damage will be done by global warming than by terrorism. Indeed, terrorism itself, and all of security issues, especially natural disasters and health emergencies will be exacerbated by global warming. This presentation provide an overview of the sweeping security implications (both near term and long term) of global warming in all regions of the world -- e.g. loss of life in natural disasters aggravated by global warming, civil unrest, food shortages and interruption of food distribution, collapse of infrastructure, failed governments, etc. -- and talk about how these risks will impact your business and your family. The presentation will also provide practical checklists of recommendations for mitigating these risks and protecting both your business and your family.
Tales From The Shadows of Cyber Space: This presentation explores the evolution of cyber crime as a global issue over the past decade. It examines the growth of cyber bank robbery, cyber extortion, identity theft, economic espionage, denial of service, cyber vandalism, cyber stalking and other criminal endeavors. The presentation includes a compelling timeline, explores fascinating case studies and also provides real-world cyber security recommendations for governments, businesses and families.
The Struggle for The Freedom of The Internet: In many countries, and particularly in the USA, the Internet has become the best and most reliable resource for cutting edge news and opinion about politics, geopolitics and the environment for a growing segment of the population. In some of these countries, this turn to the Internet is the result of tight government control over established mediums, i.e., television, newspapers and radio. In the USA, the growing reliance on the Internet is the result of tight corporate control (i.e., the media monopolies). This presentation looks at disturbing trends in government and business cooperation in limiting privacy on the Internet, legislation that would make gaining and optimizing access to the Internet more expensive and therefore more exclusive, and other serious efforts to commercialize and curtail the freedom and egalitarianism vital to the life of the Internet.
Electronic Voting = Information Warfare, Bitter Lessons from The Land of the “Free”: Many countries throughout the world are embracing democratic principles, (e.g., fair elections and a free press). Many countries throughout the world are also embracing Information Age technologies to revolutionize their infrastructures. But the intersection of democratic principles and Information Age technologies is a dangerous one. The post-election chaos in Florida in 2000, and Ohio in 2004, brought to light the fragility of the electoral process in “the world’s greatest democracy.” This presentation elucidates the numerous cyber security issues involved in electronic voting, examines some related struggles for electoral fairness throughout the USA from Florida and Ohio to New Hampshire and Alaska. It also articulates the dangers and opportunities for emerging democracies, and provides suggestions on how to “get it right.”
Why Security and Intelligence Professionals Should Advocate the Millennium Goals: This presentation explores the inter-relationship between global security threats (e.g., organized crime, terrorism, racial and ethnic cleansing, religious extremism, etc.) and global social ills (e.g., poverty, lack of education, environmental degradation, exploitation of women and children, etc.). It highlights the urgent need to address global social ills in order to mitigate global security threats, and explains how the UN Millennium Goals provide the means to do so. Tangible ways to integrate a Millennium Goals campaign into overall security strategies for organizations are also offered.
Spiritual Challenges of The 21 st Century Security Crisis: The 21 st Century Crisis, i.e., the powerful convergence of Global Warming, serious health emergencies (e.g., AIDS in Africa and Bird Flu) the disastrous “War on Terrorism,” the growth of Mega-Slums throughout the world, the rise of religious extremism, the struggle for geopolitical hegemony over energy resources, the rapid evolution of cyber crime and economic espionage, the unbridled advance of predatory corporations, etc., challenges you, your loved ones, your work force, your society itself, in new, and unprecedented ways. This presentation explores the rich resources of the World’s sacred traditions (especially, Buddhist and Shamanic), as well as some popular modern myths (e.g., Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars), and suggests how such inspiring, insightful and encouraging content can be incorporated into security and awareness programs to provide the magical ingredients – fearlessness, clarity of mind and compassion.
